Belated Blog
Okay so I admit I have been a very bad blogger this month. In my defense I have had every intention of blogging about my trip to California in October however, in the wake of Registration Month I have been so busy and tired after work that I have not gotten to it. So here we are now exactly a month later and I have my first time off and vacation. So I thought I would take the time to summarize our busy life. I also know I owe my sister-in-law Adrien a blog tag because she tagged me. Please accept my humblest apologizes let me get right on that.
Month in Summary
On October 18th – 21st I was sent on a trip for work to Oakland, California to check out a Podiatry school, which also contained a few of Boise State’s other programs that we advise. They put me up in a hotel that Rusty and I could never have afforded, but was very nice.
Hanging with the In-Laws
So during the trip I stopped in La Crescenta and spent two days with Rusty’s parents. We had a great time we went to dinner and the Getty (Art Museum) and Rusty’s grandma Jo’s Birthday Brunch. I will have pictures when I get back seeing how we are now here in CA again and my pictures from the trips are on my computer at work.
Dance Dance Revolution Baby!
So while I was gone on my trip Rusty stayed home to work and found me the XBOX game I have wanted for month’s thank you Susan and Mandy for the addiction. It rocks! I plan to have a DDR party for my birthday talk about a blast. Stay tuned for pictures.
Halloween
So of course during our busiest time at work I get sick with the stomach virus and on Halloween too no doubt. Luckily I had started to feel a little better on Halloween night so I didn’t think I would need Rusty’s tender loving care. Halloween is his favorite holiday and several of our friends were meeting up for drinks all dressed up of course. He had a blast and everyone loved the Pooh bear costume. I would have to say that we may need to retire it and get him something new because it sure is getting ragged.
Rusty’s Birthday
So getting Rusty to celebrate his birthday every year is like pulling teeth. However, for some reason this year he actually wanted to do something. So we went to dinner at the Bull’s Head Pub in Meridian with Faith, Lindsay, Mychal and Kayden and then we went to Meridian Lanes with Chris, Stacie, Jen, and Brodie. I think all in all he had a very great birthday.
Registration Month a.k.a Hell
So of course our students do not make the smart choice to come in before registration, no they wait until the day before they need to or the day of and of course we are booked solid for weeks. To add to the fun we only do half an hour appointments that is 16 student visits a day. Because I haven’t been getting home until 6:30 – 7:00 Rusty has become the new cook in the house. I feel somewhat bad but then again I have cooked for four years during our marriage one month of cooking shouldn’t kill him.

I got to see San Francisco and Alcatraz from a distance and meet some very important people that work in pre-professional advising all over the US. I did of course manage to embarrass myself as the newbie during the dinner provided by the school. The Dean was introducing several of the Podiatrists that were in attendance that night. However, it was very hard to hear who he was introducing so when he pointed in my directions I assumed it was all of the advisors. I stood up said my name, where I was from and what school I represented with gusto only to see none of the other advisors doing the same, just podiatrists. This was the point where I realized my error and turned bright red. Luckily everyone laughed it off and I got to be an honorary podiatrist for the rest of the trip. Lucky me.
