Colburn News
So January and February marked Rusty and I preparing for him to possibly have to leave and go work in another state. He made a trip to Oregon, Montana, and North Dakota to sign books and see if he could get some work. We knew it was time to get back on track with everything. By this time we new we were having another little one in the house by September.
The weekend of February the 10th Rusty got the news that he could start a job in Minot, North Dakota so we packed our bags to go see my mom and dad, my brother and his family and my sister. Rusty then continued on that Sunday to start work Monday. We were sad to see him go but it was really nice to get together as one family and let all the kids play together. Rusty and I shared our news with the Lowe and Bench families that weekend too so it was a pretty nice weekend. Russell and I went home on that Monday and started our time without dad. I still had a lot of work and Russell was growing into his own little manhood.
March was filled with really weird weather for Idaho and Russell started to get a few colds to go along with the surprising new teeth he was getting. He had eight before this next group started. We are currently sitting at 13 so he has been a little crabby and busy. He is so much like his daddy. He doesn't like to sit still for very long. He is a go go go boy. So when these last teeth came in it was clear something was off. All he wanted was to lay near mama.
April has really just flown by fast. We made the decision to fly Rusty back for the anatomy ultrasound this week so as I was trying to get through our three weeks of registration the excitement was mounting. Unfortunately both Russell and I had a little bump in the road. With 50 hours of work a week, Russell going to daycare (Sestpool of germs) he caught a monstrous cold that made it difficult for him to get sleep, me to get sleep and then I manage to catch the plague myself. In the middle of all of that I had a great visit with my parents and sister. I really didn't want to do Easter without family so they all came over to Boise and we spent the weekend together. It was nice to have them around.
I managed to be pregnant, sick with a sick kid and get to work everyday. Russell mended much faster then I because he started to gain more sleep then me. I ended up going to the doctor to see if I had anything worse then a cold. Turns out the only real worse was the acid reflux that was aggrevated by the cold and then in turn aggrevated the cold right back, thank you pregnancy. Yeah me. I am certainly on the mend and really love having my husband home for the short time that I do have him here.
Rusty flew in on Wednesday, shocked Russell (little unsure if it was in fact dad standing in front of him). Thursday was the ultrasound and we have drum roll please...a healthy baby...
Girl on the way in September. We are very excited. But asking that if you want to share your pink that you think about the other colors in the palette that a baby girl can wear. I am not against pink just getting only pink. Rusty is planning to fix his shot gun and get his big protective daddy attitude on board. I am excited about the relationship that Russell will get to have with his little sister. The clothing choice should be fun too.
