Catching up...
So I have a really good excuse for not blogging sooner...it involves a story that I am proud to say has a happy ending so far as I can tell...The story starts several years ago actually when Rusty and I got married on May 22, 2004. Sometimes its hard to believe that we have made it Six years this last weekend (We have been together for 9 years shocking I know!)
So we were happily married and just before 2007 when I got my Master's degree we decided we wanted to enlarge our family. So we adopted Buddy our awesome Bassador (Bassett hound/lab). We also decided we would like to have a child. So we started trying. I figured it would take some time, little did I know that God had plans for us and that time would be more within his notions then ours. Frustrated and seeking to control the situation we had all but give up and were looking for options to share our lives with other children (Rusty coached optimist, I taught pre-school sunday school) and we were making the step to talk to our doctor about options. We were also looking to adopt another dog...But in God's good humor he said waaaahhhhaaaa and bam Rusty and I are now having a baby. Most of you who know me know that our two families have a lot of December babies between them (My birthday being one of them) so I was trying to avoid a December birth. Again, God has a sense of humor the Colburn baby is due on December 14th (my mom's birthday). We blame Faith for the jinks and we thank God her second prediction didn't occur (she thought we might be having twins, shivers!)
We are so blessed and happy to be having this child so I will take the December date with joy. I have been a little tired (Bedtime is know about 7:30 so I can go to work with a little energy) I am 11 weeks along and starting to feel a little more pep in my step. So I should be a little more out and about. We love you all and hope that you will be able to share in our happiness. It's been a fun year. My counsin Luke and Heather had their baby in April, Jessi and Jeremiah are also having their second, and my Brother and sister-in-law are due in October. More fun to come...
